The superbike is cheaper than its previous model and is around Rs 31,000 cheaper than the previous generation. There was no compromise on the quality of the materials used for the construction of this bike. The supersport bike now carries a price tag of Rs 13.99 lakhs in India.
Ninja ZX-10R in India is almost of the same design as of the MY20 Ninja, the only difference between is that it receives few red accents on the fairing. This fairing gives it a different look than the older version.
The 998 cc inline four-cylinder engine liquid-cooled engine uses a stacked design, the Kawasaki engineers has done a good job. This superbike has a triangular engine layout with the crankshaft axis and the shaft of the engine positioned there. To reduce the width of the engine the high speed generator is placed behind the cylindrical bank.
The bike also has an oil cooler to reduce the temperature of the oil, the liquid cooled engine is adjacent to the oil filter. It comes with a Transistor Controlled Breakerless Ignition (TCBI) ignition system.
The bike produces a power of 146.9 kW (197.0 hp)@ 13,000 rpm. Torque is as high as 113.5 N⋅m (83.7 lb⋅ft)@ 11,500 rpm. It has a Slipper clutch with a close-ratio six-speed with sealed chain. The delivery of the motorcycles starts from mid-June onwards, so the Ninja lovers who have already booked their bike can get their hands on their baby after mid-June. Competition: Due to the competitive price of MY20 Ninja ZX-10R it will be able to dominate the litre-class SuperSport segment in India.
The Ninja ZX-10R has a competition against the Ducati Panigale, BMW S1000RR, Suzuki GSX- R1000, Aprilia RSV4 RR and the Yamaha YZF R1.
