The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is powered by a 648 cc air and oil-cooled, parallel-twin motor that which makes power of 47.6PS at 7100rpm and 52Nm of torque at 5200rpm. A 6-speed transmission assisted by a slip-and-assist clutch transfers power to the rear wheel via chain drive.

The chassis is an all-new that has been developed by Harris Performance. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm telescopic forks at the front and twin gas charged shock absorbers at the rear with preload adjustability.

On safety features the bikes has disc brake on both the front and the rear and sports a dual channel ABS which was much needed on this bike. Though EBS is still missing on this bike. Still this bike is miles better than what we had of its previous version. With its increased displacement to 648 cc, a big thanks to Royal Enfield as it has lesser vibrations than before.

The 2 cylinder engine which produces 47.6PS at 7100rpm and 52Nm of torque at 5200rpm is much refined and gives that much needed power to the bike that its a joy to ride this new baby from Royal Enfield.

It has a fuel tank of 12.5 Litres. The Continental GT 650 starts at 2.65 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is available in one variants.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 has a waiting period ranging from four months to six across India. While it varies depending on the colour, the minimum waiting period stands at four months at the least. Royal Enfield will be doubling up its production from 2500 units per month to 5000 soon, which might help in easing off the waiting times.
