In Auto Expo 2020, Tata Motors had revealed the Tata Gravitas 7 seater SUV. Gravitas is basically a longer version of the Tata Harrier with its third row of seats. The 1998cc engine on the Tata Gravitas is a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre engine which gives about 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. You get to choose between a 6-speed manual and a new 6-speed automatic transmission. This new automatic has been source from Hyundai.

The features on the Gravitas is similar to the standard Harrier and has an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 9-speaker JBL sound system, automatic climate control, terrain modes, drive modes, cruise control, a coloured multi-info display, as well as keyless entry with push-button start. It also packs in a sunroof — a feature available as a dealer-level accessory in the Harrier.

Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, electronic stability program, hill hold control, and hill descent control.

The Gravitas is expected to be priced at Rs 1 lakh more than the Harrier, which starts from Rs 13.69 lakh. Its rivals include the Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming MG Hector 6-seater.

The Gravitas is around 62mm longer than the Harrier, and now incorporated a stepped roof and a reworked rear section to accommodate the third row of seats. The section aft of the B-pillar is longer and boxier, with lightly reworked tail lamps and a bump on the roof, to allow for more headspace in the third row. The width and wheelbase should remain unchanged.

Price of Tata Gravitas is expected to be around 15 Lakh.
