The company has named the Punch for the concept of Tata HBX micro SUV which was earlier known as the Tata HBX will be launched in India later this year. The front profile bears resemblance to the other Tata SUVs – Harrier, Safari, and Nexon. The Punch is said to have a smaller wheelbase than the hatchback based on the ALFA platform as the Altroz. In terms of dimensions, the Tata Punch mini-SUV will measure 3,840mm in length, 1,822mm in width, 1,635mm in height, and 2,450mm in wheelbase, making it Tata’s smallest SUV. The Tata Punch will likely to get the Tiago’s 86PS 1.2-litre petrol engine, and possibly the Altroz’s 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine as well. The model is expected to receive a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic AC, cruise control, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and connected car technology. Tata Punch will also sit on 16-inch alloy wheels.

Tata will offer the micro-SUV in a 5-seater layout. Exterior highlights of Punch include a split-headlamp setup, extensive body cladding, flashy alloy wheels and raked roofline. The Tata Punch has an SUV-ish visual profile courtesy its high stance, Harrier-like LED DRL units along with headlights, a wide bonnet design, and a pronounced grille. The price of the Punch will be around ₹4 lakh in ex-showroom.

Prices can be a little upwards upto ₹7 lakh for the top trim. Tata Motors will offer a slew of variants for the Punch, and a range for customizations. Tata PUNCH has been designed in that manner so that it could carved to sneak through the busy streets and driving the Punch will be bring lot of fun on winding, rugged countryside vistas.

From the image shared by Tata Motors, one can say that the front bumper and the body cladding have been toned down from the HBX concept. However, the squared wheel arches, upright stance and heavy cladding all around still gives it a proper SUV-like look. The front bumper also features Tata’s signature Y design motifs and also houses a pair of fog lamps. Punch has button start, cruise control, climate control, semi-digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment with floating display, height adjustment for the driver’s seat, rear armrest with cup holders and a full black colour scheme cabin.
